We're the premier, highly sought-after kids’ interior design studio with years and years of playroom design experience. We design for development by creating custom luxurious spaces where kids love to learn, play and reset in the US and abroad.
Smart Playrooms + Project Playroom
In addition to our luxury design services, our sister site and e-commerce store Project Playroom features stylish and sensory-rich products created for fans to replicate the Smart Playrooms aesthetic on their own.
Both brands are under the direction of our chief creative officer, Karri Bowen-Poole, and focus on the educational and developmental needs of children and teens.

We offer two services regardless of location. The differences between the options is how much you need our Smart Playrooms team to be on-site and how much you need our team to be involved with the actual buildout of the space.
E-Design: Custom design and we send digital files, including 3D renders, clickable shopping lists and CAD drawings for build out.
Full Service Design: Custom design and we work with you every step of the way: measuring, designing, purchasing and project managing. This option also includes ongoing consulting via phone or on-site, and design revisions.
Both of our Smart Playroom services are specific to your space and your children's ages, interests and needs.
The signature Smart Playroom's Full Service design process is an immersive and collaborative design experience that our clients adore. Our experienced and talented Smart Playrooms team will handle all steps in the design process: measuring the space, choosing all furnishings, wall decor, and equipment, being available for ongoing consultations by phone or email, space planning and layout, overseeing the installation process.

Fees and Project costs vary.
Minimum 75k minimum spend on SP fees + costs of furnishings, equipment, contractor services.
Our Edesign service includes a digital design plan with all the elements of a Smart Playroom design, including aspace planning and a layout, shopping lists for all furnishings, equipment, materials and toys, 2 color schemes in renders and CAD construction drawings with details measurements.

If you have ever heard the term EDUCATIONAL DESIGN you have our Founder Karri Bowen-Poole to thank. The idea came to her in the middle of the night, and after 12 years of teaching in elementary classrooms as well as several years as a mom observing her friend’s poorly designed playrooms, she knew she was on to something. As the Founder of Smart Playrooms, Karri has spent the last 10 years revolutionizing the way children learn and play with her kids’ playroom design services.
Karri and her team are truly AMAZING, not only given the end result of the project (our playroom is pure magic for the kids - we hadn't even unpacked more than a fraction of their toys and they simply do not need them - there are so many stimulating and engaging elements from the playhouse to the climbing wall/ foam pit for their imaginations to run wild!), but the way of working and client service. This was the one part of building and designing our new home that was a true pleasure form start to finish - and now is an endless source of joy for our family (the crown jewel of our home). I will be forever grateful for what you have given our 4 children.
My family and I can't say enough about Karri and her team...they are FANTASTIC! We undertook a major basement renovation including a huge play area for the kids, complete with ninja equipment, a rockwall, swings etc....
